Mr. Derek Snyder, President of the Nacogdoches Jaycees was the guest speaker at the Wednesday, January 25, 2017, meeting of the Rotary Club of Nacogdoches. 
 
 
Mr. Derek Snyder, President of the Nacogdoches Jaycees was the guest speaker at the Wednesday, January 25, 2017, meeting of the Rotary Club of Nacogdoches. 

Mr. Snyder provided an overview of the Jaycees significant activities and sponsorships the club provides to our community during the year.  The Jaycees is a young men’s leadership training and civic organization emphasizing business development, management skills, individual training, community service and international connections.  The Nacogdoches chapter is very successful and supportive of numerous local charities and community service organizations in Nacogdoches.

Kent Hutchison, Rotary Board Member presented the Jaycees with a Paul Harris Fellowship for their service and contributions to the community on behalf of the club.  

Sarah Grace Alders, winner of the Texas Farm Bureau Free Enterprise Speech Contest provided an encore performance of her award-winning speech.   The speech as expected was very well delivered and was a highlight of the meeting. 

Nancy Collins, President of the Cum Concilio Club in Nacogdoches presented a donation to the club to be used for the purchase of books for the Rotary Mobile Library project.  The Mobile Library project provides books to local children at local sites in conjunction with the NISD Summer Lunch Program during June to August each year.
