Ms. Brenda Willet and Ms. Karen Shelton, Attorneys for Lone Star Legal Aid were the guest speakers at the Wednesday, March 15, 2017, meeting of the Rotary Club of Nacogdoches.   Ms. Willet and Ms. Shelton’s program was titled “The Elderly, Health Care and Public Benefits” and covered many of the services provided by their agency and staff.

Lone Star Legal Aid maintains a long and rich history of advocacy on behalf of low-income and underserved populations with the purpose to equalize access to justice for persons who otherwise would not be able to afford an attorney to protect their rights and maintain their basic needs. 
 
Mr. Ed Pool received the “Avenues of Service Citation” for his work with the Rotary Mobile Library.  The award is provided annually to individual Rotarians by Rotary International as recognition for outstanding efforts in each of the five avenues of Rotary service, Club, Vocational, Community, International, and Youth.
