Nacogdoches County Judge Greg Sowell was sworn in to office on January 1, 2019 after retiring from the Nacogdoches Police Department.The Texas Constitution vests broad judicial and administrative powers in the position of county judge, who presides over a five-member commissioner’s court, which has budgetary and administrative authority over county government operations. Introduction will be by Patrick Lanmon. |

Medical Care in Nacogdoches County

Jeff Patterson, CEO - Nacogdoches Medical Center Health Network tapped Jeff Patterson to rejoin the organization as CEO, effective March 9, 2020. Jeff Patterson reprised his role as CEO and will again oversee the strategic, operational and clinical activities for Nacogdoches Medical Center and its 10 outpatient locations. Gary Stokes, Interim CEO - Mr. Stokes came out of retirement to lead Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital on an interim basis. He was previously CEO of Nacogdoches (Texas) Medical Center, a Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare facility, for a decade. Introduction will be by Patrick Lanmon |

HOPE - Helping Other People Eat

Dr. Sharon Ninness currently serves on the Board of Nacogdoches HOPE Food Panty, which is a partner agency of the Nacogdoches Area United Way and the East Texas Food Bank. This organization provides supplemental food and nutrition information to Nacogdoches County residents with food insecurity. At HOPE, Sharon is the manager of Jo’s Diner—A Kitchen of HOPE, the coordinator of the evening food distribution, and the director of a new Pantry Expansion Project. Dr. Ninness also serves as the chair of the Nacogdoches County Hunger Relief Coalition, which sponsors countywide produce drops and community resources roadshows. Introduction by Gary Lee Ashcraft |

He is a former DPS officer with 19 years of executive experience in the commercial aviation and security markets. Mr. Conklin holds a master peace officer certification in the State of Texas. The Helping House: Program Update and Upcoming Needs

The Helping House was opened in 2008 by Amanda Johnson and Josie Johnson. ​ The mission of Helping House is to provide early intervention services to local children with a diagnosis on the autism spectrum and other sensory and developmental delays. For over the course of a decade, The Helping House has served over 150 children and their families through multiple programs. Inroduction will be by Jimmy Mize. |
