Jessica Sowell, the assistant historic sites manager for the city of Nacogdoches, was the guest speaker at the Wednesday, July 19, 2017, noon meeting of the Rotary Club of Nacogdoches. 
 
Jessica Sowell, the assistant historic sites manager for the city of Nacogdoches, was the guest speaker at the Wednesday, July 19, 2017, noon meeting of the Rotary Club of Nacogdoches. 
 
Ms. Sowell’s program covered the duties and responsibilities of her position and specifically detailed the history and past and present conditions of the Zion Hill Baptist Church. 
 
Karen Swenson, executive director of the non-profit Greater East Texas Community Action, as well as  the administrator of Project SOS (Supply our Schools) along with ElaRuth McCullough, one of the project’s founders, provided an update on the current project and delivered a thank you to the club for its recent donation and continued support.  Project SOS has been providing school supplies to children in need throughout Nacogdoches County for more than 25 years and has been long supported by the club. 
 
Rotarian Jonathan Dunn was presented his Blue Badge by Gary Ashcraft, Rotary red badge chair, and Johnny Johnson was recognized as a long term member of the club by Past District Governor Leon Hallman.
